  13. I am trying to figure out the cheapest (over time) and most reliable
  14. way to communicate with a missionary in Nairobi Kenya. I am looking
  15. into the availability of internet access in Nairobi, but I may be
  16. forced to use point-to-point dail-up. If I use dail-up, the connection
  17. will go through several satellites (Nairobi is 11 time zones advanced
  18. of me). I already have a WorldBlazer, so I can accommodate PEP or
  19. V.32bis w/ V.42bis. Does PEP (a half duplex modulation?) perform better
  20. or worse than V.32bis w/ V.42bis in a multi-satellite connection? (I
  21. plan to use a UUCP package running on the Mac or PC at either end of
  22. the connection.) If V.32bis is better in this case, are there any
  23. modems I should give special consideration to for the Nairobi end of
  24. the connection (my end will be a WorldBlazer) since all V.32bis modems
  25. are not created equal?
