- My client is going to pick up a used server for our group. The server
- already has a Sybase SQL server on it, and we will probably need it. The
- question is: can Informix and Sybase co-exist peacefully ?
-
- The server: Sun 670
- The OS: Sun OS 4.1
- The Sybase: SQL server 4.2
- The Informix: Informix 4.1 (probably)
-
- My sources tell me that Sybase SQL Server uses a daemon and raw disks
- like Informix's Online. I assume that there will be no problem if we
- use Informix SE. I am less certain about what will happen if we try
- to put up an instance of Informix Online. Does anyone have any
- experience mixing the two system? Any comment on my assumption about
- SE ?
-
- If you're curious, zap me some e-mail. If there is enough interest,
- I will summarize the responses. Thanks in advance.
