  13. I am running OnLine 4 on a Sun690 with 4 processors.  The OnLine
  14. documentation suggests using "sunldmod" and setting SPINCNT=1200
  15. in the dbconfig file.  I have done this and performance has doubled.
  16. The documentation also suggests that while 1200 is "a good starting
  17. value", the best value is application-dependent.  Can anyone give me
  18. some hints as to what this parameter actually does?  Is performance
  19. supposed to change linearly, or do I have to search the entire space
  20. to find the optimum value?  Any pointers would be appreciated.
