- I am running OnLine 4 on a Sun690 with 4 processors. The OnLine
- documentation suggests using "sunldmod" and setting SPINCNT=1200
- in the dbconfig file. I have done this and performance has doubled.
- The documentation also suggests that while 1200 is "a good starting
- value", the best value is application-dependent. Can anyone give me
- some hints as to what this parameter actually does? Is performance
- supposed to change linearly, or do I have to search the entire space
- to find the optimum value? Any pointers would be appreciated.
