- I have to set up a patient database for a research project at my university.
- Since I know very little about databases, I need to pick one that:
-
- 1. can be learnt quickly
- 2. requires the least programming (can be programmed through point & click
- menus)
- 3. takes advantage of Windows 3.1 features- OLE, etc.
- 4. requires very little intelligence of the end-user
- 5. puts pretty icons on the screen like Windows programs
- 6. and you can create lengthy (but simple) forms and reports with.
-
- Speed is not particulary important.
-
- The people I've talked to suggest using Paradox with Borland's Object Vision
- 2.0. I've never used Object Vision, but I do have some experience with Para-
- dox 3.5.
-
- Could someone tell me:
-
- 1. If this is a good combination
- 2. Is there some other database program that might be better in this case
- 3. Does Paradox 4.0 differ substantially from 3.5
- 4. What Borland's policies are regarding upgrades to the Windows version from
- Paradox 3.5
-
- I realize that this may not be a question that a lot of people are interested
- in. If you prefer, you can mail me directly at:

- Thanks.
