- VIII BRAZILIAN SYMPOSIUM ON DATABASES

- The Brazilian Symposium on Databases is an annual event, promoted
- by the Database Committee of the Brazilian Computer Society
- (SBC). The 1993 symposium will be held at the Federal Uni-
- versity of Paraiba in Campina Grande. For the first time the
- Symposium will have an international program committee.

- The objective of the symposium is to gather researchers,
- professionals and students in the area of databases and related
- areas, in order to promote discussion about research and
- development of prototypes and products in the area. Subjects
- of discussion includes topics as non-conventional databases,
- object-orientation, active, temporal and deductive databases,
- and knowledge bases; formal and theoretical aspects as well as
- implementation and optimization problems or design techniques.
- The symposium program includes paper presentations, tutorials,
- prototype presentations and demonstration of commercial products.

- PAPER SUBMISSION
-
- Send 4 (four) copies of your paper to the program chair.
- Papers submitted should contain up to 15 pages and short communi-
- cations, up to 3 pages. Proposals for tutorials and short courses
- are wellcome as well. Additional details will be given in the final
- call for papers or can be obtained from the general chair or
- program committee chair.

- INSTRUCTIONS FOR DEMOS

- There will be two kinds of demostrations:
-
- 1) Non-commercial prototypes. They should be related to a
- submitted paper or communication;
- 2) Commercial products. For exposition of commercial products,
- please contact the general chair.

- Proposals must clearly state the support needed (equipment and
- services) at symposium site.
