  21. The Brazilian Symposium on Databases is an annual event, promoted
  22. by the Database Committee of the Brazilian Computer Society
  23. (SBC). The 1993 symposium will be held at the Federal Uni-
  24. versity of Paraiba in Campina Grande. For the first time the
  25. Symposium will have an international program committee.
  26.  
  27. The objective of the symposium is to gather researchers,
  28. professionals and students in the area of databases and related
  29. areas, in order to promote discussion about research and
  30. development of prototypes and products in the area. Subjects
  31. of discussion includes topics as non-conventional databases,
  32. object-orientation, active, temporal and deductive databases,
  33. and knowledge bases; formal and theoretical aspects as well as
  34. implementation and optimization problems or design techniques.
  35. The symposium program includes paper presentations, tutorials,
  36. prototype presentations and demonstration of commercial products.

  39. PAPER SUBMISSION
  40.  
  41. Send 4 (four) copies of your paper to the program chair.
  42. Papers submitted should contain up to 15 pages and short communi-
  43. cations, up to 3 pages. Proposals for tutorials and short courses
  44. are wellcome as well. Additional details will be given in the final
  45. call for papers or can be obtained from the general chair or
  46. program committee chair.

  49. INSTRUCTIONS FOR DEMOS
  50.  
  51. There will be two kinds of demostrations:
  52.  
  53. 1) Non-commercial prototypes. They should be related to a
  54.    submitted paper or communication;
  55. 2) Commercial products. For exposition of commercial products,
  56.    please contact the general chair.
  57.  
  58. Proposals must clearly state the support needed (equipment and
  59. services) at symposium site.
