- I don't recall a FAQ for comp.databases, but if one is ever created,
- this is a candidate question: How should someone go about learning
- SQL, and database use in general.
-
- I have a friend who is somewhat familiar with databases and would like
- to learn SQL both from books and in a 'hands-on' manner. Does anyone
- have a suggested reading list? How about suggested free or cheap PC
- database software (relational, SQL), preferably with a tutorial, that
- can be used at home for hands-on learning?
-
- I know I've seen variations of this question posted often, but this is
- the first time I've had any reason to pay attention to the responses.
- Sorry to have to do it again.
-
- Posted responses are preferred.
