  34. THEME:  An international forum for current work on data compression and
  35. related areas.  Topics of interest include but are not limited to:  Coding
  36. theory, quantization theory, parallel compression algorithms and hardware,
  37. lossless and lossy compression algorithms for specific types of data
  38. (including text, images, video, speech, music, maps, instrument data,
  39. graphics, animation, and bit-maps), data compression standards, bi-level
  40. coding, transform methods, wavelet and fractal techniques, string searching
  41. and manipulation, closest-match retrieval, theory of minimal length
  42. encoding and applications to learning, system issues relating to data
  43. compression (including error control, data security, and indexing), medical
  44. imagery, scientific and space data.

  46. SUBMISSION:  Authors are requested to send by mail (NOT fax or email)
  47. four copies of an extended abstract of 8 to 10 pages (please include your
  48. affiliation, address, phone number, fax number, and email address) by
  49. November 16, 1992 to:

  60. ADVANCE REGISTRATION:  Includes registration reception (Monday evening),
  61. poster session reception (Wednesday afternoon), coffee breaks, and
  62. proceedings. The fee is $295.00 for IEEE or affiliate members, $370.00 for
  63. non-members, and $150.00 for students; there is an additional $100 late fee

  73. NASA SPACE AND EARTH SCIENCE DATA COMPRESSION WORKSHOP: Will be held the
  74. day following the conference (April 2) and will explore opportunities for
  75. data compression to enhance the collection and analysis of space and earth
