- I am trying to get the "compver" file in the software packaging tools
- to work. I've checked several versions, including the SVr4 version
- that comes with Solaris 2.0 (SunOS 5.0).
-
- Here's the situation:
-
- Package <foo1> version 1.1 is installed. It has a "compver"
- file containing the lines
-
- 1.1
- 1.0
-
- According to TFM, this says that version 1.1 should satisfy
- dependencies in packages looking for version 1.0.
-
- Package <foo2> has in its depend file
-
- P foo1 Foo1 package description
- (sun4)1.0
-
- When I go to install foo2, it still complains that it needs <foo1>
- version 1.0.
-
- Any ideas? It seems to me there is a bug in either TFTools or TFM.
