  21. The DOC package includes the basic package needed for all distributions
  22. from the Mainz packages (ARRAY, FTNRIGHT, MULTICOL, NFSS, and THEOREM). 
  23. The original version of this program set was developed by Frank Mittelbach
  24. <PZF5HZ@RUIPC1E.BITNET> to enable literate programming in LaTeX and
  25. includes two critical complementary components -- docstrip and doc.

  27. Denys Duchier rewrote docstrip to run either with TeX or of LaTeX, and to
  28. allow full boolean expressions in conditional guards instead of just
  29. comma-separated lists.  Johannes Braams re-united the two implementations,
  30. documented and debugged the code.

  32. Further commentary to doc was added at Royal Military College of Science by
  33. B. Hamilton Kelly; English translation of parts of the original German
  34. commentary provided by Andrew Mills; fairly substantial additions,
  35. particularly from newdoc, and documentation of post-v1.5q features added at
  36. v1.7a by Dave Love.

  38. The files of this package reflect version 2.0r (17 August 1992) of
  39. docstrip.doc and version 1.7k (24 August 1992) of doc.doc.
