  21. The MULTICOL package include the complete set of files associated with
  22. Frank Mittelbach's <PZF5HZ@RUIPC1E.BITNET> multicols environment in LaTeX.
  23. The files in this package reflect version 1.4L (17 August 1992).  The main
  24. changes are better support for marks and the possibility to use this
  25. environment inside a box.
  26.  
  27. The multicols environment allows switching between one and multicolumn
  28. format on the same page.  Footnotes are handled correctly (for the most
  29. part), but will be placed at the bottom of the page and not under each
  30. column.  LaTeX's float mechanism, however, is partly disabled in the
  31. current implementation and will be added in a later version.  At the moment
  32. only floats contributed outside the scope of the environment will find
  33. their way into the actual output.

  35. To retrieve the entire set of 5 files in 7 parts, please include:
  36.  SENDME MULTICOL
  37. in the body of a mail message to FILESERV@SHSU.BITNET (FILESERV@SHSU.edu).
  38. If, for some reason, you should only require a specific file from this
  39. distribution, such as MULTICOL.MULTICOL_BUG, please include the command
  40.  SENDME MULTICOL.MULTICOL_BUG
  41. in the body of a mail message to FILESERV.  For anonymous ftp retrieval,
  42. the individual files, as well as a ZIP archive, MULTICOL-V1_4L.ZIP, are in
