- Actually the government is a good place to go looking for
- expert systems currently in use. Places to look are
- the departments of Treasury (IRS especially), Interior( Bureau
- of Mines, U.S.Geological Survey), and the FBI. These all
- have systems in place. Some of the systems have been around
- for at least 5 years.
-
- The petroleum industry still has a few system up and running.
- I've not kept up with what is currently in the works
- but i have been hearing a lot more of neural net and
- fuzzy logic systems.
-
- Europe seems to have enbraced the technology and started
- integrating it within their computing.
-
- The Sabre system that American Airlines and other
- airline use for reservations is an expert system
- hybrid and is still very much in use. Also I believe
- that American Express's system for validating one
- purchace is still in use and it's definitely an
- expert system.
-
- There are system out there. It's just everyone is keeping
- mum about them.
