- I remember Ted Shortliffe making a similar statement years ago about the FDA
- "looking into" licensing expert system technology. Has anyone heard anything more
- about this recently?

- Shortliffe told a similar story at the time (I'm paraphrasing). In the same year,
- two doctors were sued over the use of CAT scan technology. One was sued for using
- the device, accussed of padding fees, the other for not using the device, which
- would have diagnosed some problem. The situation would only be worse for expert
- system applications.
