  19. I've run into similar problems here.

  21. In our computer support department trying to figure out what was going wrong
  22. (I had no problems transferring to & from an IBM CMS system, or FROM a VAX
  23. system using FTP.), they finally concluded that the problems were caused by
  24. the flavor of TCP/IP / FTP on the VAX (it was Wollongong...);  it did not
  25. recognize the 'bin f 80' command issued within FTP, and so botched the
  26. transfer.

  28. VAX VMS has a recognized problem in creating SAS Transport datasets, in that
  29. it appends CR/LF to each record, which must be stripped.  Hope this provides
  30. some clues; I never could get it to work here.  Let me know if you
  31. receive a solution that works.
