  16.    Here is my benchmark result on a mainframe and on a DOS/PC:

  26.    We find that it is generally OK using SAS on a PC for a small amount
  27.    of data.  But when the amount of data and number of variables become
  28.    large, PC is painfully slow (even with EMS).  Would anyone know if
  29.    there is any good performance guideline and hint for running SAS on
  30.    PC/DOS.  We thought the Windows version of SAS would help in
  31.    performance, but were tought it will not be released until late this
  32.    year.
