- The title says it all: Does SAS/SQL work as advertised?
-
-
- The guys who look after the university's precious on-line records
- are planning a new data-base. They want to set it up as an SQL
- database for their own good reasons. However many of the users in the
- client departments would wish to access the data from SAS due to their
- greater familiarity with SAS, and its superior report writing facilities.
-
- So the idea is: our guys set up the SQL database, and a number of
- "canned SAS views" (perhaps available as %INCLUDed macros). The
- departments access it in native SQL/Intellect form, or as a
- "virtual SAS dataset".
-
- Has anybody done this before? Any war/horror/success stories? Any
- "gotchas" in implementing a large data-base?
-
- thanks in advance for any replies,
-
