  16. Regarding snail-like cursor movement, I suggest people having this problem
  17. change to expanded mode and check for the presence of rabbit-like multiplication
  18. of mode commands. NB 4 seems to handle inserts somewhat differently when the
  19. surrounding text is in a different print mode. I expanded a file to find,
  20. much to my surprise, that every damned letter had a mode normal before it,
  21. and a mode italic after it. (I had been inserting normal text in an area
  22. that had an undetected mode italic delta). This resulted in tons o'
  23. characters for the cursor to glide through.  I don't recall this happening
  24. with NB 3.0.
