- Let me second Michael Dick's question about Ibid. It is indeed a pain
- to get it working right. And then, the canned bibliography is enourmous,
- and I never seemed to be able to cut it down to size, or to figure out a
- way to start my own without having to retype in the hundred or so entries
- that I added that I really use. I followed the procedures that they
- prescribed for tailoring the supplied bibliography, but deleting over
- three thousand entries seemed an enormous amount of work. I once got as
- far as deleting about a third of them, but then it wouldn't store properly,
- and about a year ago I just gave up.
- This leads me to a further question. The last time I reinstalled NB 3.1,
- including Ibid, something happened to the printer installation program.
- So now I can't switch primary printers. When I attempt to so so, the
- program makes machine-gun beeps and locks up. If I'm lucky I can get
- its attention, but usually the BIG RED BUTTON is needed. I really don't
- want to reinstall 3.1 again, especially as there seems to be a chance that
- 4.0 is on the way (although we haven't seen it yet here in Southern
- Illinois). On the other hand, given the reception NB4/Lingua is getting,
- I'm not entirely sure I'll bother. I'm certainly not erasing my NB 3 files
- yet.
