- 1. No need to convert Israeli NB 3.0 to NB 3.1: the
- only differences are a few print modes, reported in
- SHAPIRIT.MSM, in NBshaprt.zip.
-
- 2. As for converting from 3.0 or 31. to 4.0: none of
- us here has received 4.0; but with the beta version
- I got back in February, you must use the ca/h command,
- which works most of the time. Otherwise, you must
- enter in 3.0 or 3.1, in the expanded mode, <la4><lr0>
- at the top of the file, and save it under a different name.
- Then call it in NB 4.0. There are problems, however, with
- the transitions between Hebrew and Roman, since all
- modes have been unified. So each MDHN becomes MDNM,
- and each MDNM remains MDNM. The first should be replaced
- by LA$, and the latter by LA1. I began to write some convertion
- routines in XPL, but then I thought I better wait and
- see what happens with the final version.
-
- In addition, ISRAEL.KBD in NB-LNG01.ZIP would be easier to
- work for Israelis; also, I have put the vocalization functions
- the RIGHT SHIFT, while the lest shift works as usual.
- So vocalizing becomes an easy matter. Letters with dagesh
- would be produced by either shift (left or right).
- Shaul Shaked would certainly prfer my screen fonts to the
- unbelievably unprofessional amateurish drawings by NBI.
- They are also available from the archive mentioned above.
