-
- I'm afraid I'm completely confused at this point about what is
- compatible with what in the NB4 suite of add-ons. I'm even more
- confused by Paul Bodin's "those who want to use Ibid with NB4 are
- going to have to upgrade Ibid also..."
-
- 1) Is there, in fact, an Ibid "4.0" -- I mean, is NBI shipping a
- version of Ibid that works with NB 4.0? At one point, I heard that
- the Ibid "update" would be delayed?
-
- 2) If the answer to (1) is "no" -- meaning that those faithful users
- of NB (3.0) and its "add on" are left high-and-dry by a main product
- that is out of step with its add-ons, then I wonder how the loyal
- users of NB are supposed to feel. Is the reward for buying the total
- package being stranded when there's a major upgrade (e.g., 4.0)?
-
- 3) If the answer to (1) is "yes," then how much does it cost to
- upgrade Ibid so that it works with NB 4.0?
-
- Sorry if answers to my questions are all obvious: all the writing
- of NBI's obituary has left me so depressed about the spectacle that
- I have stopped reading NOTABENE these days. I still don't have my
- 4.0 (paid for sometime in 1990, as I recall), so I can't say from
- any documentation here.
-
- As if the NB 4.0 situation doesn't make documentation matters bad
- enough...I have several versions of Ibid, with fixes upon fixes,
- and new printer files, and at this point I am so lost as the order
- of installation events that I don't know where to begin. None of the
- paper documentation with these other fixes and upgrade versions is
- dated, so I can't even tell which paper doc goes with which diskettes.
-
- If someone can present a cogent picture of Ibid status -- well, for
- now, I'm listening to this channel.
