- Here's something interesting. I run Desqview 386 with the stealth option,
- along with the PC-Kwik Power Pak (Cache, ramdisk, spooler sharing common
- memory pool). I decided to try running NB 4.0 with the spell checking
- as you type (something I don't usually do). I have the program set up to
- load the dictionary mostly in EMS. Big mistake. System starts acting funky.
- Long, continuous SPONTANEOUS hard drive access. No response to keyboard.
- Desqview switches windows once then stops. Requires cold boot.
- I went into a cold sweat and required a warm drink. Fortunately, no permanent
- damage to the FAT or anything. I think I'll lay off that spelling dictionary
- for a while. I still haven't found a keyboard conflict setting that seems
- to eliminate all problems. Seems to be a trade-off between menu system
- problems, unsolicited character entry, and sticky shift keys. Do I need this?
-
- Oy.
