  11. The Director of the Rhetoric & Composition Division will report directly to
  12. the Dean of Liberal Arts, Jim.  And you're right, there was a committee
  13. recommendation, from a faculty committee on The Undergraduate Experience, that
  14. writing should be split out from the English Dept.  I was on leave last
  15. semester so didn't actually see the report, and I don't know what kind of
  16. response it drew. But this move is generally being well received on campus,
  17. though not in the Department (though things there are relatively quiet so
  18. far).
