  14. I'm very interested in what you have to say about measuring student
  15. change.  (Forgive me for bringing up what is now probably a past
  16. conversation; I'm weeding through over 200 messages from the summer.)
  17. I've proposed doing a research project here at Ball State which
  18. essentially is designed to measure changes in students' awareness
  19. of themselves as writers, using Elbow and Belanoff's Writing Skilles
  20. Questionnaire.  Our goal is to see how much their awareness has
  21. changed over the course of our two-semester basic writing program.

  23. So I would like to hear more about Perry's speech this summer.  What
  24. else did he have to say?  Does he think we can't really measure
  25. student change?
