  12.  The main trick to critical thinking is to avoid buying into the rhetorical
  13.  situation or communication dynamic set up by a text. One needs to attempt to
  14.  construct the rhetorical situation and attempt to understand what is going on
  15.  as a sort of voyeur. You can then deiced whether or not you want to buy in.
  16.  Rhetorical analysis (of whatever sort) is the best tool for critical thinking
  17.  that I know of.
