  12. This is not strictly speaking a link failure notice, but...
  13.  
  14. The nodes CornellE and CornellF are no longer on Bitnet.
  15.  
  16. These machines, the Cornell National Supercomputer Facility 3090/600's,
  17. are being replaced by an ES/9000-900.  The ES/9000 will not be on Bitnet.

  19. As of right now, properly formatted Bitnet mail for CornellF and
  20. CornellE (in BSMTP format, being sent through the configured mailers for
  21. these machines) will be forwarded for a period of three months.  The
  22. forwarding will be via the Internet to eagle.tc.cornell.edu, the AIX
  23. system on the ES/9000 to which all users of these machines are migrating.
  24. (Note also that Internet mail to cornellf.tc.cornell.edu and
  25. cornelle.tc.cornell.edu is now MXed to eagle.tc.cornell.edu.)

  27. Bitnet mail being sent though the mailers but not in BSMTP format will
  28. be discarded.  (Sorry.)  Mail and files being sent directly to individual
  29. userids (not through the mailers) will be sent to a postmaster userid,
  30. and may or may not get delivered, depending on volume and available
  31. staff time.
