- Subject: CORNELLE and CORNELLF off Bitnet
- Lines: 25
-
- This is not strictly speaking a link failure notice, but...
-
- The nodes CornellE and CornellF are no longer on Bitnet.
-
- These machines, the Cornell National Supercomputer Facility 3090/600's,
- are being replaced by an ES/9000-900. The ES/9000 will not be on Bitnet.
-
- As of right now, properly formatted Bitnet mail for CornellF and
- CornellE (in BSMTP format, being sent through the configured mailers for
- these machines) will be forwarded for a period of three months. The
- forwarding will be via the Internet to eagle.tc.cornell.edu, the AIX
- system on the ES/9000 to which all users of these machines are migrating.
- (Note also that Internet mail to cornellf.tc.cornell.edu and
- cornelle.tc.cornell.edu is now MXed to eagle.tc.cornell.edu.)
-
- Bitnet mail being sent though the mailers but not in BSMTP format will
- be discarded. (Sorry.) Mail and files being sent directly to individual
- userids (not through the mailers) will be sent to a postmaster userid,
- and may or may not get delivered, depending on volume and available
- staff time.
-
- Our apologies for any inconvenience.
