- Ideological inquisitions sure sound like a volatile subject on this list. But
- it does raise an interesting point concerning the frame of reference of
- history. I remember my old Western-Civ class from high-school. The teacher
- was an older fellow with a long white beard and had a throttle engine in his
- voice. "Never rely on just the textbook. It's told by a couple of historians
- from their perspective. WHen doing research you must get many sources and weed
- out the facts." This frightened me when I pondered upon the thought of
- the textbooks being inaccurate. But while frame of reference might interefere
- with the accuracy of some articles, we cannot accuse the author of his
- reporting. But there is no harm in asking him/her to reassure us of the clarity
- of the article.
