- Apple Computer has a little-known subsidiary called APDA, associated
- with the Apple Developer's Group. For answers to odd-ball or
- hard-to-find-answers-for questions, you might try the following:
-
- APDA (800) 282-2732; in Canada (800) 637-0029; or +(408) 562-3910
- Their Developer Support Center is (408) 974-4897; FAX (408) 562-3971
-
- Or, For referral to an Apple User Group near you (800)538-9696
-
- APDA is really the Developer Group order line for special, technical
- products, but they do answer questions, and may be able to at least
- point you in the right direction. My experience is that they are not
- the most friendly bunch, though, and I have had to let the phone ring
- many times on several occasions. At least call and get their catalog.
-
- The IIE card for the Mac LC allows ou to skip any dealings with Apple
- File Exchange using ProDOS diskettes, and allows Mac documents to be
- saved in AplleWorks 3.0 format. For all intents and purposes, the IIe
- card makes your Mac act like an Apple II. Use all your Apple II
- software, and don't worry about losing the last (only) slot on your
- Mac- the IIe card takes care of this through software control.(Apple
- -800-776-2333; list price is $199) If you still use Apple II
- computers, or have software and want to use it, and find out all about
- II or IIgs software, call Apple and ask for their free catalogs.
- To order at a discount, call Quality Computers 800-777-3642; Educators
- may wish to ask for their free ENHANCE educational nesletter (really a
- disguised catalog, but with lots of good info)
-
- For a humungous (four pound+) catalog of Mac Eductional Software, call
- Apple and askfor the Apple Access Macintosh Educational Software Guide
- #M1068LL/A. The list cost is $19.95 which is worth it, but prove that
- you are with a school/or other institution and they'll probably send it
- to you for free.
