  26. We have open telephone numbers for access to our system.  As the
  27. interest in computers grow and we open up more information access to
  28. world-wide computing facilities, our load has grown.  We have just
  29. added 8 additional ports to bring our total to 24.  The new lines
  30. support speeds to 9600.

  32. Our new core curriculum requires computer knowledge in all areas
  33. beginning this year, so we anticipate that we will need to add more
  34. lines soon.

  36. The numbers are on rotary and are available to students, faculty and
  37. staff without constraint.  We do not charge for this service.
  38.  
  39. We also support 3 800 numbers for North Carolina primarily for use
  40. by our College of Education to allow in-service teachers easy access
  41. to e-mail and Notes for use in their classes.

  43. We monitor the use of the lines and try to stay ahead of the demand.
