  12. Bill, we at UGA are also "building" some information kiosks.  We have, after a
  13. year long study decided to use a technology based on the NAPLAPS Teletext
  14. format.  This is to be run on our campuswide VIDEO system.  It will use a key
  15. pad like an automated teller machine for interaction.

  17. Before I get the screams of why not use data, etc..this system is designed for
  18. campus information distribution for people who do not/will not/don't want/can't
  19. have/etc/ computer network access.  This includes visitors.  The interface is
  20. very simple.  Touch screens could be used, but the keypad is lower in cost.

  22. The kiosks are presently being designed, that is we are still researching the
  23. physical design and layout of the physical unit.  The "guts" of the unit are
  24. already onboard.

  26. I am now looking for a builder/prefab already built kiosk to purchase.  Any
  27. information you have to share would be appreciated.
