  17. I have been in Reserve here for over a decade and since I have been here
  18. textbooks have been available for rental to students.  I'm afraid I don't
  19. know how it was set up or how long ago, but it is handled from a dept. in
  20. the bookstore.

  22. It affects Reserve in one way...we have an arrangement with Textbook Rental
  23. --when they are down to their last two available copies they set them aside
  24. for Reserve.  Those two copies are sent to the library and we place them on
  25. Reserve.  That way if they run out of books for all students in the class
  26. the last two are available at Reserve until the additional copies are avail
  27. able in Textbooks.

  29. I will also mention that in the same 10 years I have been here there is a
  30. lot of discussion about getting rid of the rental service and having stu-
  31. dents buy their texts!
