I've been using irc since last year and it seems that this trend is on the rise. Last year there were real people that I made friendships with. This year there are not many people that are as sociable.
Solution: local chat networks. And If enough of us get together, another irc-like network(except with nicer people) to break the internet monopoly. Eventually the rude people will be left behind in the "old" irc and a better chat system will go on.
If anyone agrees with me let me know. I seem to see a lot of dissatisfied people posting here. I have had my share of unpleasatness myself.
