- To be totally fair to Scott, he's probably not at all involved in this.
- His links were not cut, but he just decided to 'get out' of the server
- business. He said he will keep the server 'for test purposes' ... apparantly
- he is testing something.
-
- This is not just a problem with this server, but with most < 2.7.2g.
-
- To protect against it, you can always make the channel +i, or set up an
- /on command to deop anybody opped by a server that has been abused.
- (I don't advice making it deop on ANY server op, only on servers that have
- been abused in the past. It can get REAL nasty if not done right (like in
- a net split, so I don't advise it unless you can make it smart enough to not
- activate during a net split...))
-
- If this doesn't work, you can just keep banning until you get most or all
- of his user-id's ...
-
- The only real solution is to eradicate the bug from all servers ... not
- something that's going to happen overnight. And of course, servers can
- be re-hacked to have other, similar bugs. But that's IRC for ya ...
