- One of the beauties of IRC is that you can't bring your old
- prejudices (you call them sociology, which is as good a way as
- any of inpugning sociology) with you. you must make your
- judgements about somone in realtime based on completely objective criteria
- (unless that person's machine does not let him change his
- realname field, which won't change much anyway). IT's
- a truly interesting and wonderfull aspect, and if somone wishes to
- announce personal information, he can do it by saying it or
- putting it in the realname field (realname should reveal a hint
- of your personality or interests, not your name - my philosophy).
