- Yes, as the dog's flesh decays, the Cs-137 will be released into the
- soil, where it will be free to leach through the soil, migrating
- downward. Eventually, it may reach the local water table, get into your
- water supply and be ingested by the surrounding inhabitants. Due to
- various factors, including the original source term, soil
- characteristics, and hydrogeologic effects, the resulting uptake may or
- may not be significant.
