- Well, maybe someone can give some real light here, otherwise
- I give up.
-
- I have tried using the TU78 on my 11/70. After modifing the MFDRV source
- under M+, and setting the RH70 to use 24 registers, I managed to get
- M+ to recognize the TU78. However, I got a hard timeout every time I
- tried mounting a tape. I read all the documentation I have on the TU78,
- and it said that the TM78 formatter don't recognize some massbus controllers
- correctly, and don't work with them. I tried reading the registers of
- the TU78 from the 11/70 front panel, and some registers look fine.
- However, two registers don't come across at all. The drive serial number,
- and the drive status gives all zeros.
- I have now connected the TU78 to our DEC-2060, and it works great there,
- so the tape drive is ok. Also, I've tried different RH70 controllers,
- but with no success. So, does anybody have any suggestions on what I might be
- doing wrong, or can anyone confirm my suspicion that the TM78 don't want
- to talk with the RH70...
