- I have a DEC memory card, labelled M7891 128K x 18 MOS MEMORY, I want
- to use in an 11/34 running RT-11. I do not know how to set the DIP
- switches (there are two banks, one with 9 switches, one with 4).
-
- I was told that the card, as is, "is configured to be the only memory
- in the system". However, when I replace the memory card I have been
- using (Monolithic Memories card that I do have documentation for, and
- which works with both RT11FB and RT11XM v5.2) with this M7891, RT11
- hangs (doesn't halt) from an RK05, with either FB or XM monitor. XXDP
- boots with either memory board. I know from the RT11 manuals that the
- FB monitor expects a maximum of 28K memory, and will hang if the
- system doesn't generate the proper signal. I tried the patch described
- in the RT11 installation and system generation manual so that FB does
- not look for memory above 28K, but even that did not help. And, the XM
- monitor should run fine with that much memory, right? Any help would
- be appreciated. Yours, Richard Chapman
