  17.     1) Not supported. There are some race conditions in the deletion of
  18.        a LAT device which could result in a machine crash.
  19.  
  20.     2) The reality of it is that it works and that (1) is rare. You need
  21.        to set the terminal line PASSALL before starting the network to put
  22.        the LAT box into the weird transparent mode. It may not work
  23.        under future versions of LAT or VMS.
