  11. We are running MX 3.1C on a standalone VAX with JNET and TGV Multinet; we've
  12. been using MX's routing features quite happily for over a year, but now we're
  13. trying to set up a mailing list for the first time.  I must be doing something
  14. incredibly dumb, because I just can't get things to work.  Here are the
  15. commands I've used to set up a test list:

  17. DEFINE LIST "MYTEST" -
  18.   /OWNER=("gadsden@lp.musc.edu")-
  19.   /NOMODERATOR-
  20.   /REPLY_TO=(LIST,SENDER)-
  21.   /ARCHIVE=USER2:[GADSDEN.MXTESTL] -
  22.   /NOADD_MESSAGE -
  23.   /NOREMOVE_MESSAGE -
  24.   /NOFORWARD_MESSAGE -
  25.   /DESCRIPTION="Test List" -
  26.   /ERRORS_TO="gadsden@lp.musc.edu" -
  27.   /PROTECTION=(SYSTEM:RWED,OWNER:RWED,GROUP:RWED,WORLD:WE)

  29. Once the MYTEST list is defined, a test user has no problem using mail to
  30. MX's LISTSERV address to subscribe, review, signoff, etc.

  32. However, any mail sent to the MYTEST-REQUEST address bounces (MX tries
  33. to deliver it through the LOCAL interface rather than passing it to MLF).
  34. Likewise, any mail the test user sends to the MYTEST address bounces.
  35. It doesn't seem to matter if the test user's mail to MYTEST-REQUEST or MYTEST
  36. originates in VMS Mail on the VAX, or arrives via smtp. It gets bounced
  37. either way.

  39. What in the world am I doing wrong?!?
