- Keeping in mind that this is for a home machine, a second machine is not
- financially viable; the one I have now is what I'd call a minimum just for
- DV/X. Even getting a cheaper machine to run plain DOS is unattractive, since
- it involves significant (for an individual) financial outlay (on top of the
- $555 for the OS) and some inconvenience.

- DOS Merge is a must, since I can't afford to ditch my existing DOS
- applications and buy UNIX versions (or even buy upgrades where available).

- is a personal machine, and I couldn't spare the cash to buy it in the first
- place, let alone upgrade it.

- P.S.: AIC Systems tells me that they're expecting 33 MHz 486DX2 systems
- (supposedly effective 66 MHz) Real Soon Now. Hmm, that should run UNIX like a
- demon...
