- Well, since we're all telling Philippine stories, I'll bore you too.

- In the sixties, Ferdinand Marcos' son, Ferdinand Marcos II (a.k.a.
- Bongo Marcos) was an undergrad at my college. Apparently he had lots
- of armed bodyguards who used to pose as cleaners and spy on the
- other students. He had no friends, but he was bonking Benazir Bhutto
- who was also a student in Oxford at the time. I guess they each had
- an eye on taking over the others country. He was getting so desperate for
- friends that he hired some students to have dinner with him in a
- house out in the countryside.

- I heard the other day that he's now been elected to the Philippino
- parliament, but that he still has no friends.
