  12. friday morning i dreamt i met markian gooley.
  13.     [i know it had to be

  15.      can't fall asleep 
  16.      until 4 or 5 am...]

  18. he walked with a shuffle, and his hair was dark
  19. and slick and cut very raggedly.  he was obese.
  20. his clothes were soiled, he hadn't bathed, but
  21. somehow he had shaved.  he was repulsive to the eye.

  23. but when he spoke his voice was clear, calm, collected.
  24. precise.  and in this lovely low register he was
  25. inquiring, "i am quite repulsive, aren't i?"

  27. i looked him in the eye and frowned.  (and in my broken
  28. old english i replied) "methinks thou doest 
  29. protesteth too much."
