  14.     President Bush is distancing himself from Pat Robertson, who spoke on
  15. hisbehalf at the GOP convention. A Robertson letter to Iowa members of
  16. the Christian Coalition urges opposition to a state equal rights
  17. amendment... saying it could lead to wives leaving their husbands and
  18. killing their children... and might spawn witchcraft. A Bush spokesman
  19. says the President doesN'T agree with any of that.
