- Are you Christian, Mike? The Bible specifically says that sex is one of the
- bonding forces of marriage. Most societies and religions will dissolve the
- bonds of marriage if the marriage is not consummated. Which means if the
- married couple does not have sex. In some societies the relatives even
- required proof of sex (sometimes even involving eye witnesses to the
- consummation) before the marriage was considered valid.

- Not all people require sex to the same degree. Some people don't require
- it at all. But sex is something that most people NEED. Marriage is an
- institution designed to legitimize this need.
