  49. Oh.  I get it.  We seem to be suffering from a misunderstanding of
  50. exactly what it means to `support a right.'

  52. The question boiled down to its nut was, `Are there any circumstances
  53. under which a woman has a right to an abortion?'  And your answer was
  54. that you thought the U.S. Constitution should not recognize (the
  55. Constitution does not `grant' rights -- it `recognizes' them) any
  56. right to an abortion regardless of the circumstances.  Your refusal to
  57. indicate whether you would support legislation restricting
  58. availablity of abortion really *was* a cheap red herring designed to
  59. disguise your opinion behind a false cloud of uncertainty.
