  15. CADONMAC ANNOUNCES WORLD'S FIRST "FILMODEL(tm)" SERVICE

  17. Cadonmac, the UK consultancy for computer-aided-design and virtual
  18. reality, has announced a new and unique service for estate agents,
  19. property-developers and others seeking to market or visualise flats,
  20. houses, offices and developments.

  22. Developed with authoring software from Virtus Corporation,
  23. "filmodels(tm)" are stand-alone file/programs that are "films" in that
  24. they allow users to play back a pre-recorded walkthrough of the space,
  25. and fully-fledged 3D models that can be explored in real-time without
  26. the need for any additional software. They also include a credits
  27. screen in which the property owner or agent can provide information or
  28. advertising. Typical file sizes are 400K, so two or more filmodels can
  29. comfortably fit on a high density disc without compression.

  31. "We think filmodels will introduce a whole new method by which people
  32. conduct the selling or letting of property", says John Tan, marketing
  33. director at Cadonmac. "The fact that filmodels are so modest in size,
  34. play themselves on any Mac and allow the user to explore the spaces at
  35. their leisure will greatly simplify the process of pre-viewing. They
  36. inform the prospective buyer or tenant in a way that photographs and
  37. floorplans cannot, and in many cases eliminate the need to travel to
  38. and from properties to get a feel for the space.  This is of
  39. particularly useful, of course, in the evaluation of properties in
  40. remote areas or in other countries."

  42. Filmodels can also be of use to corporate facilities planners, film
  43. and theatre directors, and to public institutions as a complement to
  44. plan guides for visitors.

  46. Typical prices for filmodels start from =L120 including VAT and
  47. disbursements.  Where required, furniture & fittings can be added to
  48. the model.  Turnaround for typical projects is two days from receipt
  49. of order.  International orders are welcome.
