- On the other hand, the group leader proposed the research in the sense
- that she wrote the proposal that got the funds to pay for it. It's
- common practice in the physical sciences that the person whose money
- pays for the research and who has to spend large amounts of her time
- writing proposals to continue providing that funding is listed as an
- author.

- I don't think that this is necessarily the best policy, but that's how
- it is and I haven't seen any injustice result from it in my limited
- experience So, while injustice certainly does happen, I don't think
- that it's very widespread.
