  14. Let F be a field and L a quadratic extension of F.  Then it is 
  15. well-known that K_2(L) can be generated by semiinvariant
  16. symbols; that is, things of the form {a,b} where a is in F - {0} and
  17. b is in L - {0}.

  19. Does this fact extend to L/F of degree greater than 2?  Affirmation,
  20. partial results and counterexamples all welcome.
