- I am part of a neighborhood coalition fighting a drag strip's
- being built within a mile of our homes. Is there any information
- available (journals, papers, whatever) on the toxic pollutants
- generated by dragsters? Or: any info on pollution of the aquifer
- from drag strip accidents or usage?
- The local zoning board, in coopertion with the county government
- has seen fit to allow a "zoning variance" of agricultural land for
- what they call an entertainment facility (the drag strip). That the
- strip will be built within a mile of a heavily populated area, on
- top of the HIdden Valley aquifer and on land which was possibly
- once wetlands (and is now near wetlands) seems to have no bearing
- in the case.
- Any hints on what to look for, or where will be greatly appreciated
- by the community involved.
