- One try in this direction was an aircraft APU mounted in an
- electric car. The APU, which was something like a 10-15KW gas turbine,
- was used to charge the battery. The APU was cycled on and off as
- battery charge level dictated, so it would switch on and off while
- driving. Amateur effort, LA, mid 1970s.
