- In article <hill.715462676@galena12> you write:
- |>
- |> So the scout leader's rights are more important than the scouts rights because
- |> he is a leader or because he is an adult or because he is gay and supposedly a
- |> minority now?
-
- You obviously did not understand a word in that paragraph. The point that
- was being made is that gay scout leaders are being *forced* out of their
- role as scout leader, while a scout (or his parents) can *choose* which
- troop he is a part. The scout has the *right* to be a part of the troop,
- while the scout leader is being told he does not have *any right* being
- a scout leader. So in this case, yes, the scout leader's rights are more
- important, since he is not given a choice.
-
- |> If it's nobody's business, then why is there such a huge gay/lesbian movement
- |> and why is there a gay rights agenda and why are their "rights" to behave as
- |> they please being forced on society. If it's nobody's business, then
- |> it should not even be an issue.
-
- The reason there is such a big movement is because society does deny gays and
- lesbians certain rights based strictly on their sexual orientation. The
- military ban is one example. Legal marriages, and all the benefits associated
- with marriage, are denied gay and lesbian couples. And you are right, it should
- not be an issue. However, since these restrictions are there, and have been
- placed there by certain groups in our society, it has become an issue.
-
-
- |> Certainly true. Any behavior can be learned or unlearned. Homosexuality is
- |> a behavior and can be unlearned as well as learned.
-
- First of all, I'd like to see any quantitative analysis that proves that
- homosexuality is a learned behavior. If it is learned, and most gays and
- lesbians grow up in a straight family or environment, then where did they
- learn it from (and don't tell me that they were "molested" by some old
- man down the street, it just doesn't wash)?
-
- Second, as has been stated before, since homosexuality is a "learned
- behavior", that means that you could learn to be gay. I challenge you
- to be gay for a week. That should be no problem, since once you've learned
- to be gay, you should be able to un-learn it, right? Not necessarily have
- a same-sex encounter, but to be *gay* for a week.
-
- |>
- |> Let us not forget that what the gay/lesbian movement is asking is for
- |> rights based on their behavior and not their humanity.
- |>
-
- Let us not forget that what the gay/lesbian movement is asking for are rights
- based on who and what they are, and what they feel for another human.
-
- Finally, Get off your high horse. Who are you to judge a person's humanity?
