  31.   I've never understood cross-posting. An interesting topic in 
  32.  alt.politics.homosexuality can't be expected to generate the
  33.  same enthusiasm in rec.scouting or chi.general. News readers
  34.  aren't so lame that they'll miss out on a topic if it isn't
  35.  cross posted to 5 different newsgroups.

  37.   Perhaps in future discussions on this issue, rec.scouting and 
  38.  chi.general could be removed from the distribution line. Readers
  39.  of those two groups would read aph, or aa, or ad if they were
  40.  really interested, and the discussion wouldn't be suppressed.

  42.   Imagine if somebody cross-posted to alt.pat.buchannan and aph,
  43.  which lead to hundreds of followups in aph from rabid buchannan 
  44.  fans.  Some people would be irritated by that, and there's no
  45.  reason why they shouldn't be.

  47.   The situation isn't quite that extreme here, but I think you get 
  48. the idea. Please think before you cross-post, and then don't
  49. cross-post.
